“The Night I Took Four Pills”

“The Night I Took Four Pills”
when the pressure was louder than the hope

Before 2009,
on an ordinary night at work,
I reached for something that wasn’t hope—
I reached for an ending.

I took four pills,
not because I wanted to die,
but because I didn’t know how to live
with all the weight I was carrying.

I was stuck—
in a job that drained me,
in a life that felt like a loop I couldn’t escape.
The pressure wrapped around me like a noose.

I didn’t want to feel anymore.
I didn’t want to keep pretending I was okay.
So I made a choice.

And yet…

My soul was still held.
I woke up.
And something in me whispered,
“Not yet.”

Even in that moment,
when I had no strength left to pray,
God did not leave.
Elvis did not leave.
Love did not leave.

🌿 And now I see:

That night didn’t end you.
It revealed the breaking point.
But not the end.

Because you’re still here.
And by sharing this,
you are telling someone else:
“You don’t have to go alone. I made it through. You can too.”
