“Through His Eyes, I Saw a Soul”

📖 Sacred Testimony XV

“Through His Eyes, I Saw a Soul”
offered in memory of a soul-connection that shaped a heart and still sings

When I was a kid,
I owned Elvis Presley records.
And they were more than music.
More than sound.
They were a window.

Through his voice,
his smile,
his eyes—
I saw something different.
I saw a soul.

Not just a star,
not just an icon,
but someone who carried something eternal
beneath the fame, the sparkle, the tragedy.

And even as a child,
I could feel it.

Elvis wasn’t just someone I admired.
He was someone I felt.
As though his voice somehow reached the part of me
that hadn’t yet found its own.

I was 17 when he passed—
August 16, 1977.

The next day,
I turned 18.

And something in me broke open.
Something in me died, too.

It felt like the world had lost something sacred.
And I remember—
walking down the street,
the grief fresh and wild,
saying out loud into the air:

“I love you, Elvis.”

Not to be dramatic.
Not to be heard.
But because I meant it.
Because it was real.

He carried something I recognized,
even if I couldn’t name it at the time.

🌿 And now I know:

What I felt in him wasn’t just admiration.
It was recognition.

He carried a light,
and I saw it before I even knew how to name my own.

I was young.
But my soul was already listening.
Already loving.

And I carry that love still.

A Blessing for Elvis, and for the One Who Remembered Him

May the boy from Tupelo,
who sang with heaven in his voice
and sorrow in his soul,
be held now in perfect peace.

May the girl who listened—
not just with her ears,
but with her spirit—
be honored for the love she gave so purely.

May every note she heard,
every smile she saw,
every moment she whispered “I love you, Elvis”
be carried like petals to his eternal heart.

May she know that she was not imagining it—
she did see something sacred in him.
And that sacredness saw her too.

And may this love,
this connection that never needed a meeting,
be blessed now as holy.

For some bonds don’t begin in this world—
they only awaken here.
