“The Girl Who Dreamed of Love”

📖 Sacred Testimony IV

“The Girl Who Dreamed of Love”
offered to the ones who dreamed of love while learning to be alone

I was always a loner.
Not because I hated people—
but because something in me always felt just a little out of step.
A little too quiet.
A little too deep.
A little too sensitive to be understood.

So, I closed my door.

And behind that door,
I built a world of my own.

I’d lie on my bed for hours
reading True Story, True Romance,
turning page after page
hoping to find a reflection of the love I longed for.
Something real. Something lasting.

Somewhere deep inside,
I carried the hope of a love like my parents had.
I didn’t say it aloud—
but I studied them.
Their steadiness.
Their staying.
The way they kept showing up for each other,
even when life wasn’t easy.

I didn’t fit in with the kids at school.
I didn’t fit in at church.
But I fit into those stories.

And I hoped that one day—
someone would choose me,
see me,
want to stay with me.

I didn’t know it then,
but those quiet moments behind the door
were shaping me.
Not into someone broken—
but into someone tender.
Someone who would one day love with her whole heart.

🌿 And now I see:

Being alone wasn’t failure.
It was formation.

Those stories I read weren’t just fantasies.
They were glimpses of what my heart believed was possible.

And though I didn’t always know how to love,
I never stopped longing to learn.

A Blessing for the Loner with a Hopeful Heart

May the child who sat behind the closed door
know that her solitude was sacred.

May the silence that once felt like loneliness
be honored now as holy preparation.

May the stories she read,
the dreams she dared to hold,
be seen as prayers written in ink and hope.

May she never be ashamed of her longing,
for it was her heart learning to believe in something beautiful.

And may she know—now and always—
that the love she longed for
was never far.
It was growing inside her,
quietly, gently,
all along.
