📖 Sacred Testimony XXVI
“When the Sun Got Brighter”
offered in honor of the return to light, and the decision that changed everything
I weighed 85 pounds.
My neighbor said I looked like death warmed over.
And they weren’t wrong.
It didn’t take long to fall.
The body follows the soul
when the soul is hurting too long.
But something shifted.
Somewhere in the storm—
I started to come back.
In the psych hospital,
as I got stronger,
the doctor didn’t know what to do with me.
Should she go home?
Should she return to CareUnit?
They left the decision to me.
And I chose.
I chose to go back.
Back to the CareUnit.
Back to the path I hadn’t finished walking.
And I have to tell you something:
When I made that choice,
the sun got brighter.
Not just outside—
but in me.
It was like I stood in the Sunlight
and for a moment—
all of it dissolved.
The weight,
the pain,
the haunting memories,
the fear of never being okay again…
It lifted.
I caught a glimpse of the real.
And the illusion—
the old story—
it dissolved.
I wasn’t fully healed.
But I was standing in something holy.
And I knew:
There’s more for me.
I’m not done yet.
🌿 And now I see:
Death had brushed me.
But Light chose me.
And I said yes.
That day,
with bones and fear and courage all wrapped into one fragile body—
I walked back into recovery.
And the Sun met me there.
✨ A Blessing for the Return to the Sunlight
May the one who weighed 85 pounds
know now that her soul was never small.
She was light wrapped in fragility,
and still—
she stood.
May the words “death warmed over”
be released like old dust,
for she is no longer death’s shadow—
she is resurrection’s spark.
May the hospital room that held her
be remembered not as a prison,
but as a pause before glory.
And may the moment she stood at the crossroads,
choosing not to go home,
but to return to healing—
be honored as one of the bravest choices she ever made.
Because the sun got brighter that day.
Because she stood in it.
And because Light will always win
when one soul dares to rise again.
